BIRD Feeder!

So, who do you think will win this match? Beautiful blue bird on the top or the rascal squirrell climbing up the thin, squirrel proof (apparently NOT) pole? Sunflower seeds are the prize..... This is the best photo I coudl get from inside the house.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DENNIS

Today is Dennis's birthday! His special gift came last Friday evening, though, when Brett gave him a gift from all the children. An ipod Shuffle. Boy was he surprised and boy, does he love it! Brett put about 150 songs on it and showed him how to run it. Looks like happy, music listening times for Dennis! I gave him a candy bar birthday card and a Baskin Robins ice cream birthday cake! Yummy, yummy! We are both enjoying it. We are reserving the p-a-r-t-y time for after the house is listed for sale, then we plan to celebrate all the fun holidays that have gone by while we have been working on getting the house ready for the market! Happy Birthday Dennis! I love you!

BECKETT!

Brittney and I enjoyed the wonderful weather we had most days in Ivins and took Beckett for his first stroll around the neighborhood. The next picture is proud Poppa Kent with his little boy - who is apparently bored with the video games! And, Grandma loves Beckett, what else can I say?

PIRATE PIZZA with The HEINKE's

When I was in St George, we had a chance to go to Pirate Pizza to use the coupon I won in the auction to help raise funds for the family whose dad died in the Nutty Putty Caves at Thankgiving time. His wife, Emily, is a friend of Brett's from their BYU days. I thought it would be great to go for pizza in St George and who better to invite than Kent and Brittney and their great friends, the Heinke family. I loved getting to know them a littel better. They are really a wonderful family! The girls are just adorable and well behaved. And look at the size of that pizza, "The Kracken"

This past week while I was in St George I was able to have a lunch date with my cousin Dodie Burns Bennett. Her mother is my Aunt Eva Smith Burns (deceased -2009). She and her husband, Bill, live in Montana during the summer and in St George during the winter. We met at the pizza factory in Ancestor Square. Dodie (Dorothea) has always been one of my favorite people in the world. I don't see her very much, so she probably is not aware of how much I adored her growing up and still today. I remember her wedding to Bill. I thought it was one of the most beautiful weddings in the whole wide world. I still remember how awed I was when the bridal music began and gorgeous Dodie come down the wonderful curved stairway in her fairy tale dress to the altar to meet Bill who was waiting for her in all his handsome glory! My other favorite cousin, Chris, and I wore cute little lace aprons and helped to clear the refreshment tables during the reception. I remember thinking, "Oh I want my wedding to be just like this!"

I was surprised to see how much she looks like her mother now. Aunt Eva was one of the kindest women in the world and always treated us like royalty. I dearly loved her. It was wonderful to see Dodie again and I enjoyed talking with her and lunch and being friends again after all this time. She also took me to the cutest shop are we left the restaurant! I look forward to seeing more of her when we move to St George.
